Sew What? How to Turn Your Pins into Stunning Projects!

Hello, Sew Friends!!

It’s a new month! So, you know what that means here at “The Sewing Hub?” A new Challenge of course! It’s all about PInspiration this month. What is a PInspiration you may ask? Well for those who don’t know a PInspiration is a project inspired by a Pinterest post. When you visit Pinterest you can create an account and select from different categories the things that you are interested in, and they’ll show you different pins that you might like or people that you may want to follow because their pins inspire you. Once you created your profile you can create different boards which are just things you are interested in, divided into different categories. Don’t worry you can make your boards personal or public for everyone to see. Really simple right? Well, are you ready to start creating boards yet? Ok, I'll help you out just a tad bit more just to help get those juices flowing.

Let’s talk about this weather and the seasons changing. Here in the South, it’s starting to cool down and we all know what that means…... SWEATER WEATHER!! I’m personally looking for different fashionable yet comfortable outfits for the change of the weather. When I go into Pinterest, I’m going to type in the search bar “fall fashion trends in 2024” or “sweater dress.” I love a sweater dress because you can dress it up (with booties or knee-high) or dress it down (with sneakers). After I’ve searched different looks, I’m then going to look through my patterns to see if I already own a similar pattern or have a pattern that I can alter to make it look similar to what I’ve found. Then what’s all left to do is pick fabric. YYYYAAAAYYYY who doesn’t love FABRIC SHOPPING??

Our challenge doesn’t necessarily have to be clothes. Have you seen some really nice fall or Halloween decorations and thought to yourself, “I can make that!” Well, why not make it? I can even give you a hand if you’d like. One of our awesome sponsors for this month is Samantha Marie Designs. And she has these lovely ghost and skeleton plush patterns perfect for this season. Oh, and please don’t let me forget about the trick-or-treat tote bag that’s perfect for customizing for your little ones. Ok, I can feel those creative juices following now. But wait I found these cute pumpkin place mats on Pinterest that’s so CUTE! You can make it with scraps or whatever fabric you would like. Customize it to your liking.
